Swarthmore College has implemented a series of exemplary sustainable projects to help them achieve their values-based commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2035. Our team contributed to this goal with the new, innovative 88,000-SF mass timber Dining Hall and Sharples Community Commons. The all-electric building, designed for net zero carbon and LBC Petal Certification, provides a central hub for social activity on campus. The building also houses the central geoexchange plant that replaces a 100+ year old fossil-fuel dependent steam system.

The tour, which also includes Singer Hall, Kohlberg Hall, and Martin Hall will take place after the conference on Wednesday, July 24 from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Be sure to attend our conference sessions to learn more about the role of Historically Black Colleges and Universities in higher education, space utilization strategies, and increasing community college enrollment and retention.
