Chaffey College Taps 91Ʋ for Planning and Design Services
(LOS ANGELES – April 14, 2022) ― Chaffey College is replacing its existing library to provide greater access to information resources, technology, and services that students need to be successful. We have been selected to design the facility, further strengthening our firm’s partnership with Chaffey College.
Chaffey College currently serves 20,000 students annually on three campuses in Chino, Fontana, and Rancho Cucamonga in western San Bernardino County. The new library and learning commons will be a cornerstone building on the Rancho Cucamonga campus, offering a variety of services and spaces to meet the needs of a diverse student population. In addition to a library collection and enhanced technology offerings, the facility will feature multi-purpose spaces that support activities ranging from individual study to collaborative project work and large group gatherings. It also will house the Faculty Success Center to encourage meaningful interaction between students and faculty and will become a hub for distance education.
“The new library and learning commons is the latest example of Chaffey College’s commitment to creating a learner-centric environment where students can master transferable skills such as literacy and critical thinking,” said Jones.
Additionally, we have been selected to provide master planning services for Chaffey College’s new Ontario campus which is being built to accommodate regional growth and the evolving needs of communities within the district. In 2021, the district acquired approximately 19 acres of land on Ontario Ranch Road between Haven Avenue and Hamner Avenue for the new campus. Our scope of work encompasses facilities assessments, space planning, enrollment projects, community meeting facilitation, and cost estimating.
Both projects are funded through the community-approved Measure P bond. The design-build team for the library and learning commons also includes Swinerton Builders.
