California’s West Contra Costa USD Hires 91Ʋ

(RICHMOND, Calif., June 25, 2024) – West Contra Costa USD selects 91Ʋ to execute the transformative modernization of Richmond High School. 91Ʋ has worked with West Contra Costa USD to establish the project scope and budget, lead community engagement, and provide a formal recommendation of the school’s vision to the district’s board of education, in which the board has selected a recommended design option to move forward with.

Located outside of Oakland, West Contra Costa USD serves the cities of El Cerrito, San Pablo, Pinole, Richmond, and Hercules. The district was established in 1965 and supports 56 K-12 facilities, seven high schools, and more than 27,000 students.

The transformation project is in conjunction with a $575 million voter-approved bond package in March 2020. West Contra Costa USD will utilize the majority of the bond package to re-envision both Richmond and Kennedy High School campuses and advance its vision of equity in developing schools to become a community resource. This integrated design for Richmond High School includes new construction, CTE integration, equity-based planning and community outreach, and 21st-century learning environments organized by academic academies.
