Sustainability and Climate Action Plan Project Recognized with 2024 Sustainability Award

(PALM DESERT, Calif., July 25, 2024) – The Riverside Community College District Sustainability and Climate Action Plan was recently recognized with a 2024 Sustainability Award from the , commonly referred to as SCAG. 91ÌƲ®»¢ partnered with the Riverside Community College District, commonly referred to as RCCD, to create an implementable roadmap toward sustainability goals that establishes the district as a leader in addressing climate change.

SCAG, a metropolitan planning organization, undertakes various planning and policy initiatives to promote sustainability in Southern California. RCCD supports these efforts through their Sustainability and Climate Action Plan.

RCCD recognized its responsibility to operate in a socially, environmentally, and economically conscious way, reduce their carbon footprint, protect natural ecosystems, preserve their resources, and contribute to social mobility and wellbeing. 91ÌƲ®»¢ing with hundreds of stakeholders, the plan brings together the range of ideas and initiatives that were identified as critical to the campus and community.

The plan assists the district in developing greater action and collaboration and making progress in areas that need further investment. 91ÌƲ®»¢ provided energy planning and leadership services to maximize the use of current best practices, take advantage of savings by design, energy incentives, energy grants, energy audits, and on-bill financing programs, and recommend procurement methods for various projects.
